family mediation

Family mediation is a supported conversation to help you find practical solutions now that your relationship is over, whether it ended recently or some time ago.

If you want to have a conversation with your ex to make a financial settlement or arrangements for your children I can help.

I offer out of hours appointments on Saturdays from 10am to 6pm and weekday evenings from 5pm to 8pm, to fit in with your busy schedule. We can meet either on Zoom or in person in Sidcup, South East London. Correspondence is by email, see contact me below.

MIAM

A MIAM (mediation information and assessment meeting) supports informed decision-making. It is an opportunity for you to tell me about your situation and to get information on the options that are available to you. Then, you can take your next steps with confidence.

I am fully accredited (FMCA 0806A) and authorised to sign court application forms in England and Wales.

mediate

You and your ex will attend separate MIAMs. If mediation is the preferred option for you both: I will confirm the process; the likely number of meetings and costs; identify any information that will need to be disclosed (e.g. finances if you are discussing a financial settlement) and arrange your first session.

financial settlement

If you have decisions to make, for example, about what to do with the family home, your savings and pensions and who is responsible for what debt, I can help. I will listen to what you want to achieve; assist with identifying and exploring the options available to you; help you to test out your ideas, so that you can find the best way forward, and draw up the documents you need to help you get a legally binding agreement.

arrangements for children

I can help you both create a parenting plan that works for your situation. This can include: routine living arrangements, holidays, schools and education, birthdays and special days and child maintenance and other things that are important to you both.

child inclusive

Child Inclusive Mediation is available for children over 10 years old. This gives children the opportunity to have their voices heard when their parents are making decisions that will affect them. This is undertaken by an independent consultant who has had extensive training in meeting with children.
